SUMMER CHANGES!!
By JoyfulArt

Winter has finally passed, Spring is filling our senses, and summer is right around the corner. The kids are out of school and vacations begin! You know the feeling. Summer promises of play, rest, gardens, travel, sunshine, excess baggage...

Excess baggage? Oh sure, you know, that excess weight that you picked up while sitting in front of the computer screen, (oops, did I step on someone else's toes besides mine? hehehe), let alone all the junk in your garage that has built up over the Winter months.

Periodically it's always good to see just what it is that is slowing us down. Whether it is poundage, clutter, rotten attitudes, or laziness. Time for the Son to shine in!! Everyone knows how wonderful it is to open that window that was just for the past six months and finally feel that wonderful breeze on your face of fresh air, and to have the melodies of song birds fill your ears.

Open your window. In other words, open your mind to new possibilities and a different way of thinking and going about the way you have been in past seasons. God is a God of possibilities, He said He would give us wisdom if we asked. Many times that excess baggage is not necessary and is something that needs to be dropped. A good deal of the time, it's actually something that we need to repent from...because it has become a god in our life. Wake up!! Time to smell the Rose of Sharon!! Summer is here! Look at the SONSHINE!!

2 Cor 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (NKJ)

WHERE GOD AIN'T!!!!
Submitted by Bebre

He was just a little lad,
and on the week's first day.
He was wandering home from Sunday School,
and dawdling on the way.
He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
he found a caterpillar;
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
and blew out all the "filler."
A bird's nest in a tree o'er head
so wisely placed on high,
Was just another wonder
that caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zigzag course, and
hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day,
and what was going on.
"I've been to Bible school, " he said, and
turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm and said,
"I've learned a lot of God."
"M'm a very fine way," the neighbor said,
"for a boy to spend his time."
"If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime."
Quick as a flash his answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
"I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
if you'll tell me where God ain't!"

Live Churches, Dead Churches
Submitted by PrasHm

Live churches are constantly changing.
Dead churches don't have to.
Live churches have lots of noisy kids.
Dead churches are fairly quiet.
Live church's expenses always place demands on their income.
Dead churches always take in more than they ever dreamed of spending.
Live churches are constantly improving for the future.
Dead churches worship their past.
Live churches move out in faith.
Dead churches operate totally by human sight.
Live churches focus on people.
Dead churches focus on programs.
Live churches are filled with tithers.
Dead churches are filled with tippers.
Live churches dream great dreams of God.
Dead churches relive nightmares.
Live churches don't have "can't" in their dictionary.
Dead churches have nothing but.
Live churches evangelize.
Dead churches fossilize.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION
We thought you might be interested in this service, this letter was received recently:

Dear Sarah's Tent,

I came across a reference to your organization of Pastor's wives and felt compelled to pass along this information to you. We, Pennington Technical Arts, have developed a web site that is designed to allow for a daily Bible reading for those that want to but don't have time for a morning quiet time but have opportunities during the day to check email or web pages.

This is not a generic web Bible page that places everyone at a certain passage per day - the reader decides where in the Bible to start, how many verses to read each day, and which translation(s) to use. (the address is www.customBIBLEstudy.com) If the reader skips a day or two their place in the Bible is held until they do return to their web page. If they skip a certain amount of days they receive a gentle email reminder.

There is also available a combination where the reader can use a translation with a parallel commentary. For those that, in the past, tried to do a daily Bible reading but had gotten discouraged because they got "bogged down in the begats" there is another option available to go through over 100 selected favorite passages/stories - reading highlighted passages instead of reading every verse in a book of the Bible.

If, after a few days, the reader decides to change their settings, they can request a new study: more or less verses, a different book of the Bible, a different translation, a commentary, etc. The reader can change their study as often as they like. I felt that you might find this web site to be useful - for those who are in Bible Study groups or serve as Sunday School teachers or really anyone who wants to have a daily Bible reading but has trouble finding the time but has opportunities to check email and web sites. We do ask for a nominal support fee of $5 per month per person for usage to cover programming and maintenance but anyone can evaluate our web Bible project for free for 4 days.

Because each individual person has their own ongoing personalized study plan, each person logs onto our web page with their unique login name which is comprised of their initials and month/day of birth -such as MS0309 for Mary Smith born March 9th. The first time you visit our page, to evaluate it, it will ask you to login in that way with your own first/last name initials and numeric month and day of your birthday. Once you get past the login screen you will see your choices to customize your 4 day evaluation study just as the current users do.

Our web address is www.customBIBLEstudy.com

We appreciate you taking the time to read this email. Thank you!

On a bright spring morning, four high-school seniors decided to skip all their morning classes. They arrived at school after lunch and told the teacher a very long-winded story about the flat tire the car had gotten and all the problems they'd encountered in getting it fixed. To their immense relief, the teacher did not seem too concerned with the story. She just smiled and said, "I'd like you to make up a test you missed this morning. Take seats apart from each other and get out your pens." When the boys were ready, the teacher said, "Each of you answer the following question: Which tire was flat?

A Scout Master was teaching his boy scouts about survival in the desert. "What are the three most important things you should bring with you in case you get lost in the desert?" he asked. Several hands went up, and many important things were suggested such as food, matches, etc. Then one little boy in the back eagerly raised his hand. "Yes Timmy, what are the three most important things you would bring with you?" asked the Scout Master. Timmy replied: "A compass, a canteen of water, and a deck of cards."

"Why's that Timmy?"

"Well," answered Timmy, "the compass is to find the right direction, the water is to prevent dehydration..."

"And what about the deck of cards?" asked the Scout Master impatiently.

"Well, Sir, as soon as you start playing Solitaire, someone is bound to come up behind you and say, "Put that red nine on top of that black ten!"

Sis for Sale? One day my three-year-old daughter, Olivia, helped me with my grocery shopping. As we were standing in line waiting to check out, she looked around at all the carts and noticed what other people were purchasing. She then noticed the woman behind us had her weeks-old baby in the back of her cart. Olivia tapped me on the arm, pointed to this woman's cart and asked in hopeful anticipation, "Mommy, can we buy one of those?"
