A HEARTFELT THANK YOU
By JoyfulArt
It never ceases to amaze me how much God has
blessed this ministry and how He has provided
above and beyond what I could have ever asked for
or thought. As I began to become acquainted with
America Online, and I became exposed to the
wonder of chat rooms, God sent a wonderful Mentor
my way to help me find my way as a Host.
Through the generosity of Christianity Online
and their well trained staff and leadership, I
was given an opportunity to Host for them in a
public forum. It's hard to believe, but almost a
year has passed since I began to host for them
under the name of CoHostShan. During this time of
adjustment in Hosting manners and skills, I
learned the skills that are necessary to host a
rewarding and productive chat room.
Because of the growth of Sarah's Tent and the
need to focus on the path before me in regards to
this ministry, the time has come for me to step
down from my hosting duties with Christianity
Online. It is my wish to publicly thank
COHOSTBROW, and CoHostBLD for their patient and
generous help when ever I needed them. Their
sense of humor and insight has greatly blessed
me, and I will be forever thankful for these
mighty women of God that the Lord placed in my
path. Thank you, Jan, and Donna! I will be
forever thankful and grateful for all that you
have taught me and the encouragement you gave me!
May God greatly bless your ministry online and
send to you the workers that are necessary to
bring in the harvest online that God has for you!
And thank you Christianity Online, for the
tremendous work you are doing on the internet,
bringing light to a dark world, raising up
workers and sending them out into the harvest
fields.

Seasons In Our Life
By JoyfulArt
Even ministers enter into seasons which can
seem to be an endless winter time. However, God
has an amazing way of giving us strength in times
of need. Forever it amazes me, how, in our
weakness He is made strong. Through those trying
times, if we will but hear the voice of our
Heavenly Father, we as leaders will not only be
able to survive those fires without getting the
smell of smoke on us, but we will be able to go
back in those furnaces and bring others through
as well.
This next article is one such fire that one of
our pastors wives is entering into. Please pray
for her, and for the countless other pastors
wives with Sarah's Tent who are dealing not only
with the issues of ministry, but family struggles
as well. Be it health, finances, strife in the
church body, or marriage struggles, we are all
working out our salvation until that day that we
stand before Jesus Christ, and He looks into our
eyes and says lovingly, "Well done, thou
good and faithful servant." It is then that
we will know that it was all worth it!
FIRST THINGS FIRST ...
By Sandi Greenwell
Last week I panicked. My father's surgery to
remove prostrate cancer did not go well...they
found a large mass in his colon. After going to
the hospital day after day, reorganizing home,
four children, and trying to keep up with an ever
broadening ministry...I reached the end of my
rope.
I drove home from the hospital...tears
streaming down my checks...fists railing at God.
"What do you want from my anyway?" I
screamed. "Isn't it enough that I homeschool
my four children in obedience to You, run a full
time ministry, write books, produce videos, speak
at conferences, and now you want me to somehow
care for my Dad even more?"
I had a picture of what my Dad may go through,
because of losing my mother three years ago to a
battle with lung cancer. The last year was
incredibly difficult...the chemotherapy really
horrible to watch.
I told the Lord that I quit! I was going to
put my kids in school, close down the ministry,
and find a nursing home for my dad...I felt that
God's expectations for me were much greater than
I could endure.
The very next morning, we had almost 300
letters from people across the nation (and even
abroad) thanking us for our web site...thanking
us for helping to restore marriages..saying they
were praying for us...We had over 1500 hits in
three days (our site had been picked by
Christianity Online as best web site of the
week...just an accident?)God clearly showed me
that He is in control of all my circumstances and
that our ministry is not ours, but His.
Then, this week, we attended our annual
homeschool convention and there was a wonderful
principle given to me that was indeed God's Word
for me...He taught something we all know, but
that somehow in the midst of my panic, I had
forgotten.
"Honor thy father and mother, so that it
may be well with you all the days of your
life."
I got very excited as I realized that my
father had cared for both his parents in their
old age, and also for my mother's father. He had
had a stroke and lived with us for 8 years. My
father bathed him daily, and cared for all his
needs. I remember that this was a very stressful
time for our family, and yet my father never
quit...he showed his respect and his honor by the
care he gave.
I called my Dad to tell him this principle,
because now as I pray for my Dad and whatever he
may face (more surgery, perhaps cancer of the
color, perhaps even illness unto death, or best
of all a miracle healing) I know that I know that
I know that God has a promise for my
Dad..."That it will be well with him all the
days of his life."
I have complete peace now...and am so grateful
that God's principles for living free us up from
fear...I pray for strength to endure what I also
may need to endure during this time, because I
too want to show "honor" to my father
by the care I give to him.
God bless!
Sandi Greenwell

Letters To The Editor
In response to Issue 18, regarding
special moments spent with our children.
My son was in here with me while I was
checking my emails. I was telling him how you
write great stories! He wanted to read with me so
we read this one together. He is 12 years old,
and he liked this story. He enjoyed the whole
newsletter and afterwards he just grabbed me and
gave me a big hug and just held onto me for a
long time. He was so lovable! He had been bad
today with backtalking and just being plain
ornery and getting on my nerves. So I know he was
feeling bad as he said on the way home from his
Gymnastic class tonight that he was very sorry.
He was fighting to get out of Gymnastics which I
wouldn't allow it as it is quite costly for his
classes. He wanted to stay home because a friend
stopped by. Well, he ended up being angry all the
way to gymnastics with me. But he thanked me for
making him go to class and said he was sorry. I
told him he needs to tell someone else he's sorry
and ask for forgiveness for his behavior today
and he knew what I was talking about and said he
is going to do that. But it has been awhile since
we shared this moment together alone. I didn't
want it to end. I just had to share this with
you. Quality time with kids is important and I
miss that with him. Well, he wants me to tuck him
in as he is exhausted. God Bless!
Love, B.

CHUCKLES
Sent in by JMT214
One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little
Johnny was standing and staring up at the large
plaque that hung in the foyer of the church. The
young man of seven had been staring at the plaque
for some time, so the pastor walked up and stood
beside him. Gazing up at the plaque, too, he said
quietly, "Good morning son."
"Good morning pastor" replied the
young man, not taking his eyes off the plaque.
"Sir, what is this?" Johnny asked.
"Well, son, these are all the people who
have died in the service," replied the
pastor.
Soberly, they stood together staring up at the
large plaque.
Little Johnny's voice barely broke the silence
when he asked quietly, "Which one sir, the
8:30 or the 10:30 service?"
