A NOTE FROM JoyfulArt
Karinlaine, towards the end of last year, lost
her mother to cancer. Just a very short time ago,
her entire family was involved in a tragic car
accident where her husband was instantly killed.
Her young children and herself survived with
various injuries. As Karin has walked through
this valley of the shadow of death, she has grown
in her faith and continues to receive healing for
the wounds inflicted by the enemy that were meant
to cause defeat. What the enemy meant for evil,
God has taken and raised up a mighty woman of
valor. The article below are her own words and
reflections written in the middle of the night.
Read on..
I AM THANKFUL
By KARINLAINE@aol.com
I am thankful.
You may say, "Karin, how can you be
thankful when the past year has brought such
tragedy?"
I will tell you again that I am thankful.
I am thankful that, although she was taken too
soon, I was able to have a mom who had a close
relationship with Christ and who was an
encourager. I am thankful that for many years we
were able to enjoy a relationship where we could
talk about almost anything and share a love for
old things.
I am thankful that, although I am now alone,
that I was allowed to have such a close and
loving relationship with a wonderful man. I am
thankful that I enjoyed, if only for 13 years, a
kind of friendship and love that others only
dream about.
I am thankful that, out of that relationship,
God gave me three beautiful, intelligent
children. I am thankful that they were able to
know a father who truly was a "daddy"
in every sense of the word for at least the first
part of their lives.
I am thankful that God chose to spare my life
in an accident that should have taken it so that
my children could still have at least one of
their parents. I am thankful that my children
were only slightly injured when they could have
also lost their lives.
I am thankful that God has provided for our
financial needs in ways that could only be Him. I
am thankful that God has provided for our
emotional needs by giving us family and friends
that care for us so very much and keep us
constantly in their prayers.
I am thankful that God has given me direction
when I have come so close to just blowing in the
wind. I am thankful that God has given me
strength when I have felt like I would shatter
into a thousand pieces.
Even though I am still angry because what has
been taken from me...
Even though I am in the greatest pain I have
ever experienced in my life...
Even though to the world it does not make
sense...
Still, I am thankful.
"For I know the plans I have for you,
says the Lord, to give you a future and a
hope."
Jeremiah 29

THAT'S MY MAN UP THERE
Sent in By Exousia113
That's my man up there.
The weight of this church is on his shoulders.
He can see the struggles in each face,
and the pain of each heart.
I am very proud of him,
and proud to be on his team.
It hurts to see him struggle,
But I know it is a labor of love.
He tries to tell me
But I find it hard to believe,
"God knew what He was doing
When He gave you to me".
What an awesome responsibility,
Amazing privilege, fantastic opportunity,
To join him on a journey through Gods' Kingdom
And assist him in caring for the souls
Which God entrusts to us.
I know there will be rough seas ahead,
We are at war, I know.
It is a race to tell the world,
They have the opportunity to change.
Yes, God knew what He was doing
When He put us together.

CHUCKLES
Sent in by MultiHatz
An acquaintance of mine who is a physician
told this story about her then- four-year-old
daughter. On the way to preschool, the doctor had
left her stethoscope on the car seat, and her
little girl picked it up and began playing with
it. Be still, my heart, thought my friend, my
daughter wants to follow in my footsteps! Then the
child spoke into the instrument: "Welcome to
McDonald's. May I take you order?"
