God is too kind to do anything cruel
too wise to make a mistake
too deep to explain Himself

FORGET ME --- NOT!
By Faith david-faith@juno.com

One sunny afternoon, I sat on my bed reading a story to my then five-year-old son, Matthew. He was not really listening, and for some reason, his attention was on the floral pattern of the quilt. He was curious and wanted to know what the names of the flowers were. So I pointed out the roses and then the forget-me-nots. He looked at me incredulously and was shaking his head, arguing that they could not possibly be called that.

"Forget me nots? No way. Nope, huh-uh..." he insisted as he fingered the fabric lightly.

"Yes," I persisted, "Really, that IS what they are called . . . aren't they pretty?" He thought about it for a minute then suddenly shouted, "Oh, NOW I get it; Forget me! ----------------------------------- NOT!"

I laughed, thinking, now THIS one I have to write down . . . too cute, too funny (as moms sometimes think ) . . .

Just a little bit later as I was reading my Bible, I came across Isaiah 49:16 and read it, then went back to verse 13 and read through to 16. It said:

Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains, for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon His afflicted. But Zion said, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, THEY MAY FORGET, YET WILL I NOT FORGET THEE. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Well, as I wiped the tears from my eyes, and gently turned this one over in my mind, I was drawn back to the conversation with my son, Matthew. I thought, " Wow, Jesus, you will never forget me. As a reminder, all You do is look at the nail prints that are graven upon the palms of Your hands, and there I am." Many times it seems I've perhaps felt a little forgotten by Him, but now I know, it could simply never be. And I do praise Him and love Him for it.

Cries for Help

From: jjdunn@sylvaninfo.net (Jane Dunn)

I am a pastor's wife whose mother-in-law has been living with us for 6 months. There is virtually no chance that she will ever be able to return home to live. I am not dealing well with this. I love her, and never thought I would have any problem dealing with caring for her, but all of the situation is more than I can handle at the moment. I need some help.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am a staff wife who is struggling with the Senior Pastors... I do not like what they are doing in the church or too my husband.. I need someone to talk to.
In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. >From His temple he heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears. Psalm 18:6
*Creative Corner*
Nature Bowl
vinadare@juno.com (Margo )
Over the years or even after a short while being hung on the door, Indian corn tends to fall out and become less attractive. Instead of throwing it out or even putting it out for feed, here is a fun way to make a nature bowl:
~Remove all the corn and place it to the side.
~Pull strips off the husk and break or tear into nice uneven sized pieces
~Mix corn and husk pieces into a bowl and pour Apple oil (optional) over mixture.
~Gently mix (you could use any of the oils... or if you prefer you can enjoy without scent.
~Add small pine cones, broken pieces of cinnamon stick, dried apple pieces, a few small Bay leafs,enough for color, any type of small yellow dried flower, acorns,etc.
~Gently mix the various ingredients
These make cute little presents to take if your going over to a friends house,or to family for Thanksgiving. Try packaging in clear small bags, or small jars. Add a nice ribbon to go along with the color," we mustn't forget packaging is everything.
Not only does this give the recipient something that is homemade, it is a beautiful addition to their holiday celebration.
Pumpkin Butter
Submitted by: TentDwellr@aol.com
3 1/2 cups cooked pumpkin (one 29 ounce can)
1 Tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
1 box (1 3/4 ounces) powdered fruit pectin
4 1/2 cups sugar
To make the butter, measure 3 1/2 cups pumpkin into a large saucepan. Add spice and fruit pectin to the pumpkin and mix well. Place over high heat and stir until mixture comes to a hard boil. Add all sugar immediately and stir. Bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Ladle boiling hot into jars to within 1/2 inch of the top. Seal with two piece vacuum seal lids according to manufacturer's directions. Process 5 minutes in a boiling water bath canner. Yields about 5 1/2 cups or seven 6-ounce glasses.
It's no accident that stressed spelled backwards is desserts.
If nothing in us can win Thy love, nothing in the universe can prevent Thee from loving us...Help us to believe the intensity, the eternity of the love that has found us. Then love will cast out fear; and our troubled hearts will be at peace, trusting not in what we are but in what Thou has declared Thyself to be.
CHUCKLES
The teacher asked the pupils to tell the meaning of lovingkindness. A little boy jumped up and said, "Well, if I was hungry and someone gave me a piece of bread that would be kindness. But if they put a little jelly on it, that would be loving kindness."
A husband had always been disdainful of people who, in his estimation, talk too much. Recently he proudly told his wife he'd heard that men use 2200 words a day, while women use 4400. The wife pondered that a moment, then concluded, "That's because women have to repeat everything they say to their husbands." He looked up and asked, "Come again?"
