A Note From The Editor...

This weeks issue of JITK will be different from the norm. We have had some mail coming into the tent that might be of interest to several ladies... Therefore we bring you this special issue.. enjoy

PASTORS HUSBANDS?

Yes, Pastors husbands! In some denominations, the occasion comes where a woman is called to pastor the flock that God places with a ministry couple. In that situation, all kinds of issues come up that will be unique to these couples. Naturally, there is a great need for those who find themselves in this calling to fellowship and share with others a similar situation.

If you are interested in getting in touch with another couple like yourself, whether you are the woman who is the pastor, or the man who finds himself the spouse of a pastor, please write us at SarahsTent@aol.com, and we will help you to connect with each other! When you do, please tell a bit about yourself and any concerns you are now having that you consider important.

INFERTILITY

We have another request from a member of SarahsTent!

Are you a ministry wife who is living with infertility? One of our ladies has requested of us to ask if there might be others who are dealing with this issue, and who have not adopted, or had babies after knowing they were dealing with infertility. (She would like to share with someone at the same stage as she, the struggles and thoughts associated with this journey.)

If you are in this situation as well, and would like to strike up a Pen friendship through email, please write us at SarahsTent@aol.com and we will pass your letter along where she will contact you. Thank you for sharing!

OUR RESPONSE

Perhaps you too would like to share with others who have similar events shaping their lives, or interests that you'd like to gain more resources in. In the past, when Sarah's Tent was small, we collected information from our members and made special "Buddy Lists" that you could receive. Three years later, we've grown to hundreds of couples and more as the newsletters and resources are passed along, making it impossible to keep up with such a demand.

Therefore, we would like to try a temporary solution to a massive need. If you would like to fellowship with others in similar life events as your own (and I may be getting myself in trouble here), please write us at SarahsTent@aol.com. We will do what we can to match you up together. In the future, we will devote a web page to this, in the same way that list serve sites do. Please pray for us in this time of growth and stretching!

AN INVITATION

If you have talents, interests or knowledge that you would like to share with us by being more closely involved with Sarah's Tent as support people, please write Shannon and Christina at SarahsTent@aol.com. This ministry is a freewill offering of love to you and for you -- and from you. Together we can continue to make this happen, whether by your gift of time, or gift of finances to help in the costs of growth, web site development, etc. We are limited only by the hands that help!

DOT'S DELIGHTS
DOT'S DELIGHTS (DOTMI@aol.com)
I've received a note from Dacia asking for recipes to use for some fix-and-freeze type meals for a friend's family while the friend is recuperating from major surgery. I was wondering if you gals would like to share recipes that you might use for similar-type occasions???

I would like to share another old family favorite of ours that could also be used to freeze. Our kids loved this one, and now they are making it for their kids!!!

SHAWN'S FAVORITE CASSEROLE
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 can tomato soup
1/2 c. water
4 oz. noodles
Salt and Pepper
1 can creamed corn
1 c. grated cheese
350 - 45 minutes

A friend of mine is going to be having surgery soon. She will be having a grapefruit-size cyst removed from her right ovary & possible hysterectomy. Some of the women of our congregation would like to fix some fix-and-freeze type meals for her so that she will be able to feed her family after the surgery. The only problem is that her young daughter is allergic to both milk and eggs. Do you have any recipes that we would be able to use to help her out? We are finding out that it is really difficult to make a casserole without using cream of something soup! And we really don't want to have 12 different types of spaghetti!

CHUCKLES

A boy had reached four without giving up the habit of sucking his thumb,
though his mother had tried everything from bribery to reasoning to
painting it with lemon juice to discourage the habit. Finally she tried
threats, warning her son that, "If you don't stop sucking your thumb, your
stomach is going to blow up like a balloon." Later that day, walking in
the park, mother and son saw a pregnant woman sitting on a bench. The
four-year-old considered her gravely for a minute, then spoke to her
saying, "Uh-oh...I know what you've been doing."
