  DOT'S DELIGHTS

DOTMI@aol.com

After using the following recipe again this past week, I thought it would be a good one to share with you. The recipe for Cowboy Cookies is one that I got from my older sister many years ago, and even though I have hundreds of cookie recipes, this is one I come back to often as a family favorite. The dough can be tightly sealed and kept in the refrigerator a long time to freshly bake as you need them.

COWBOY COOKIES

2 sticks margarine
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
2 c. oatmeal
1 - 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
2 1/2 c. flour
Nuts
Chill overnight or several hours.
350 degrees.
Note: I substitute different kinds of chips, white chocolate chunks or anything I happen to have on hand.

Dot loves to hear from you and answer your questions.

The Stethoscope

A nurse on the pediatric ward, before listening to the little ones'
chests would plug the stethoscope into their ears and let them listen to
their own hearts. Their eyes would always light up with awe. But she
never got a response to equal four year old David's. She placed the disk
over his heart. "Listen," she said, "what do you suppose that is? He drew
his eyebrows together in a puzzled line and looked up- as if lost in the
mystery of the strange tap-tap-tapping deep in his chest. Then his face
broke out in a wondrous grin. "Is that Jesus knocking?" he asked
