THE ROSE BUD
submitted by: FAM4JESUS (Suzanne)
A young, new preacher was walking with an older, more seasoned preacher in the garden one day and feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was inquiring of the older preacher. The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals.
The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the WILL OF GOD for his life and for his ministry.
Because of his high respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to TRY to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact...It wasn't long before he realized how impossible it was to do so.
Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud while keeping it intact, the older preacher began to recite the following poem...
UNFOLDING THE ROSEBUD
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of GOD's design
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of GOD's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
The pathway that lies before me,
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

THE MAN OF MY DREAMS
BY: Kelly Burchett
I have always carried a magical desire to witness a bold man, confident and strong entering into my life (maybe even on the white horse of fairy tales). He looks in my eyes and sees my very soul. His every thought is covered in and colored by His love for me. He considers the future and
provides for my safety and comfort. He would stand between me and anything
that would harm me. He would even offer His life for me if that were necessary. No sacrifice is too great an expression of His love for me.
He desires to be with me; He cherishes my very being. He knows me fully and loves me completely. He cannot bear to leave me, not because He is weak but rather because His life is so totally wrapped up in mine--intertwined.
He ponders my thoughts and dreams. He listens carefully to my concerns and
is hurt when I don’t bring my struggles to him. He writes me long letters
of devotion and is confident that together we can handle all of life’s
sorrows and anticipate many hours of joy.
He is not afraid of making a decision that disappoints me. He ponders our life together and considers the outcome of every decision, every path that
could be taken. He is strong enough to handle my anger for He is confident
that He has made the right decision for our welfare and future success. He
is gentle but unmoving. He is loyal without fault and overlooks my faults
trusting that my love for Him and His love for me will restore me to Him. I
find Him totally worthy of my trust. My love for him is strengthened and
encouraged by his great love for me. I have found the passionate love I've
always desired in the man--Jesus.

BUDDY GROUP OF THE WEEK
Infertility! Most people can't even begin to understand the emotions tied with the frustration and agony of an empty baby bed. Where do you go to share your experiences? Who can understand? Where do you go to discover resources, and prayer support - let alone that sweet fellowship that accompanies people who are in similar battlefields?
Several weeks ago, a member of Sarah's Tent took a leap of faith and asked if there were others out there who were in a similar situation as hers. Several wonderful ladies responded and in the process of developing the new groups, we made the decision to allow them to subscribe to this new group rather than simply pass their email address along. That way they could all benefit from one another's experiences and generous hearts. If you were one of these ladies, or if you had thought of being a part of this group, but hesitated, now is the time! There is already a new friend waiting to meet you, who appreciates you before even knowing you.

"FAITH ENDURES"
Faith alone endures the test of time.
Through toils and strains, in circumstances unsure,
for it only is your faith that will carry you through.
With money it cannot be bought, nothing can takes its place.
Friends aren't able to share their faith,
through birth it is not produced.
God is the only source of faith,
through much prayer and fasting, partaking of His word.
This is the place of its origin.
When in trouble, look not to family and friends,
but rather turn to God and pray for an increased measure of faith.
Remember to count each trial a joy,
for it is then your faith will be made to endure.
(Poem written by: Kiplon Taylor)

CHUCKLES
From: imtalkn2u@hotmail.com (Rhonda)
A man and a woman who have never met before find themselves in the same sleeping carriage of a train.
After the initial embarrassment, they both manage to get to sleep; the woman on the top bunk, the man on the lower.
In the middle of the night the woman leans over and says, "I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm awfully cold and I was wondering if you could possibly pass me another blanket."
The man leans out and, with a glint in his eye, says, "I've got a better idea ... let's pretend we're married."
"Why not," giggles the woman.
"Good," he replies. "Get your own blanket."
